在我第一年期末的時候得了A 真不錯
It's the destination that's rewarded. And after a while, we begin to internalize this schema
只有我們的成果受到了獎勵 過了沒多久 我們就開始內(nèi)化這種基模
and we begin to believe that we accept it when we achieve a certain completion
并且我們也開始相信我們接受它 當我們達成了某種成就的時候
and goes on throughout our lives. I mean when do we get a bonus?
這樣的事在我們的生活中一直延續(xù)著 我們什么時候會得到獎金
On April 3? No, we get it on December 31! Or just before Christmas at the end of the year.
在4月3號嗎 當然不是 是在12月31號 或者說是圣誕節(jié)之前 年末

When do we get the grades, the pats on the back if we did work well?
我們什么時候會得到分數(shù) 還被別人輕拍后背表示做得不錯
At the end of the semester. Or after an exam when we have completed something.
是在學期末 或是在考試后 我們完成了某些事的時候
Not during the journey. In other words, the journey goes unrewarded.
不會在旅途中得到 換句話說 整個旅途都沒有受到獎勵
And we begin to perceive it as inconsequential, not important, just a means toward an end.
于是我們也就開始認為它是無關的、是不重要的 只是到達終點的一種方式
Very few teachers, parents, organizations, schools reward the journey-the enjoyment of the journey.
只有非常少的教師、家長、組織，還有學校會獎勵旅途、獎勵旅途中的愉快
And of course, very few reward, lo and behold, failure, which is an inevitable part of every journey
當然 也有很少的人會獎勵失敗 可這是旅途中不可避免的
so that we learn no good-this is no good-we must have as much as possible a straight line.
所以我們覺得這不好 這一點也不好 我們必須盡可能地追求直線
A straight schema. And we pay a price for it when we internalize it.
一種直接的基模 我們內(nèi)化它的時候也付出了代價
