So... No. 3: Happiness is different than joy.
那么...第三點：快樂不同于喜悅。
You hear that all the time, don't ya? "I just want to be happy." Hum... just wanna be happy.
你們常聽到這種說法，不是嗎？“我只不過是想快樂。”嗯...只不過是想快樂。
What's happiness? Happiness is an emotional response to an outcome.
什么是快樂？快樂是對結果的情緒反應。
If I win I will be happy; if I don't I won't.
如果我贏了，我就會快樂；如果我輸了，我就不快樂。
It's an if-then, cause and effect, quid pro quo standard that we cannot sustain
由于快樂這種“如果--那么”“原因和結果”的關系，這種抵償標準，我們無法讓它持久，
because we immediately raise it every time we attain it.
因為每次我們獲得快樂，我們立刻就將標準提高。
You see happiness... happiness demands a certain outcome. It is result-reliant.
可以看到，快樂需要結果，它依賴于結果。
And I say if happiness is what you're after, then you are gonna be let down frequently and you're gonna be unhappy much of your time.
我說，如果你們追求的就是快樂，那么你們就會不斷地感到失望，多數時候你們都不會快樂。
Joy, though. Joy's a different thing; it's something else. Joy is not a choice.
可是喜悅卻不是。它和快樂不同。喜悅不是一種選擇。
It's not a response to some result. It's a constant.
不是對某種結果的反應。喜悅是持久的。
Joy is the feeling that we have from doing what we are fashioned to do, no matter the outcome.
喜悅來源于做我們喜歡做的事，與結果無關。
Personally, as an actor, I started enjoying my work and literally being more happy when I stopped trying to make the daily labor a means to a certain end.

it's inconstant approach, alive and well in the doing of what we are fashioned to do and enjoying it.
