I ended last time by sharing some biographical details about my life.

Some people asked me after, "are they really true?" So yes, they are absolutely true.

And I told the incident from two different perspectives — first as a fault finder, and then as a merit finder.
這個(gè)故事我是從兩個(gè)不同的角度來講的——第一個(gè)是消極者的，第二個(gè)是積極者的
Now the important thing to keep in mind when we think about the merit finder is that
大家要記住的很重要的一點(diǎn)是我們所說的積極者
it's not that the merit finder does not experience pain or disappointment, or anger, or humility, or fear, or disappointment.
并非不會(huì)感到痛苦或失望，憤怒或羞辱，恐懼或失望
You know, it's very disappointing to say the least, not to be able to pursue one's goal, if the goal happens to be a professional career in squash.
至少無法追求自己的目標(biāo)是一件很讓人失望的事，如果這個(gè)目標(biāo)碰巧是關(guān)于職業(yè)生涯的
It is very humiliating to be the only person who fails of a program
或者是如果自己是唯一一個(gè)沒有拿到學(xué)位的人
and to have to walk around for a whole year in William James while feeling like you have a horn coming out of head.
而不得不在威廉·詹姆斯大樓再呆一年就像腦袋長了一個(gè)角那么羞愧
It's not fun. It's painful.
這種事沒有快樂可言，非常痛苦
