原味人文風情：Hi there. Welcome back. My name is Nathan, and thank you very much for joining me here in Taipei today. In this video, I'm gonna to be talking about some unusual gestures and body language which I've noticed a lot of people in Taiwan tend to do.

The first thing is that people in Taiwan count very differently on their hands to how we count back home. And this is how they do it. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, and ten.
第一個是臺灣人用手數數的方式跟我們家鄉的很不一樣。他們是這樣數的，一、二、三、四、五、六、七、八、九、十。
The next thing which I've noticed, and this is something which I've noticed more females do in Taiwan, and that is that they nearly always cover their mouths when they laugh or smile. I have absolutely no idea why they do this, and maybe some of my Taiwanese subscribers can tell me why do a lot of women and girls cover their mouths when they smile or laugh.
我注意到的第二件事是她們大笑或微笑時總會捂住嘴巴，而且我注意到臺灣女性做得比較多。我完全不知道她們為什么要這樣做，我的臺灣訂閱觀眾可能會告訴我，為什么很多女人和女孩微笑或大笑時要捂住嘴巴。
The next thing which I've noticed is if they want to say "cool," like, "Wow, you're so cool,"they'll make a seven, sort of, or a gun like this with their thumb and index finger, and they'll put it under their chins and go "cool" or "shuai." And I don't know why they use this particular gesture. And again, maybe some of my Taiwanese subscribers can shed some light on the matter.
我注意到的另一件事是，如果他們想說“酷”，比如“哇，你超酷的”，他們會用大拇指和食指這樣擺一個七，類似一支槍的樣子，然后放到下巴下邊說“酷”或“帥”。我不知道他們為什么要用這個特定手勢。再提一次，我的臺灣訂閱觀眾可以為我稍微解釋一下這件事。
Another thing which I've noticed is that there are very few public displays of affection. And so you will not really see people holding hands. People will not really kiss or hug in public. And of course, there's nothing wrong with that, it's just something which I've noticed out here. But back home, it's quite common to see people hold hands, hug, or kiss.
另一件我注意到的事是，大家很少公開示愛。你不太會看到人們在路上牽手。人們不太會在公眾場合親吻或擁抱。當然，這沒什么問題，這只是我在這里注意到的現象。但在我們家鄉，人們牽手、擁抱或親吻是特別稀松平常的事。
The next thing which I've noticed a lot of people do in Taiwan is that when they are taking a picture—and people like to take pictures here by the way—but when they are...not taking a picture, but when they are having their picture taken, they'll...99 percent of the time, they will go like this. They'll use what we call the peace sign.
我發現很多臺灣人做的另一件事情是，他們在拍照的時候——順帶一提，這里的人很喜歡拍照——但他們...不是拍照，是讓別人幫他們拍照時，他們會...有百分之九十九的可能他們會做這個動作。他們會用我們稱作和平標志的手勢拍照。
