仔細閱讀部分要求考生閱讀短文。篇章長度四級為200-250詞。短文理解每篇后有若干個問題，要求考生根據對文章的理解，從每題的四個選項中選擇最佳答案。

閱讀分項講解——真題解析

1.仔細閱讀：定位非常關鍵
此部分也應先看題目后看文章。根據出題順序與行文順序一致的原則，確定答案所在的大體段落。
較難題目中都會出現題干與原文同義替換的情況，那么該同義替換的句子很可能就是定位句，那么答案就在定位句的相鄰句子中。
當兩個選項無法完全確定時，重新審題，比對兩個選項與定位句的意思，同義替換的選項或與原文主旨一致的選項可能是正確答案。
此外，轉折對比處、舉例處、因果關系處、定義結論處、比較級/最高級處、特殊標點處（破折號、括號、冒號、引號、分號等）都極有可能是設題的地方，著重注意。

四級仔細閱讀答題技巧：

(1) 細節題
在做細節題時，首先應當仔細閱讀題目，弄清題目的具體要求，以及所給4個選項，然后在題目或選項中確定關鍵詞，再利用關鍵詞回文章中定位，找出文章中相對應的細節性句子，與4個選項進行對照，以確定正確答案。
(2) 主旨題
首先要確定文章有無主題句，以及主題句在文章中的位置。文章的主題句通常位于首段或尾段，有時也出現在文章的中間段落。段落的主題句通常位于段首或段尾，有時也在段落的中間。
(3) 推理題
推理題在大學英語四級考試閱讀理解中是比較難的一類試題，切忌主觀臆斷，推理必須基于文章中的具體事實細節。做題時雖不能直接找到答案，但一定要在文中找到推測的依據，進行合理嚴密的推斷。
(4) 觀點態度題
在回答態度類問題時，對文章體裁的考查是一個非常重要的方面。一般來說，在說明文中作者的態度是客觀的(objective)或中立的(neutral)；而在議論文中，作者的觀點才會顯得多種多樣。
過于絕對的選項錯誤幾率較大：如選項含有only, must, no, all, little, few, always, none等，錯誤幾率較大。
