Taste is really related to breed
味道同品種有關(guān)
I have three breeds listed here
這里列有三種雞
The names of the breeds are actually directly translations from Vietnam
名稱都是從越南文直譯過(guò)來(lái)的
There's local and crossbred which are types of free range chicken and also industrial chicken
土雞和雜交雞兩種是放養(yǎng)雞然后是工業(yè)雞
I have a scale of different tastes
第二列是對(duì)味道的衡量
It's a subjective scale

Basically it's based on several conversation I had with Vietnamese consumers and my experience there

So local is the tastiest going down to industrial which is largely considered to not be that tasty at all
土雞味道最好，工業(yè)雞最差，基本上沒(méi)有味道
This is reflected in the price. Local chicken is quite expensive, Industrial is not
這在價(jià)格上有體現(xiàn)，土雞最貴，工業(yè)雞最便宜
But remember, even though local chicken is more expensive and crossbred chicken is more expensive
不過(guò)，土雞及雜交雞雖然更貴
it still makes up the majority of at-home consumption
但還是成為人們的主要消費(fèi)對(duì)象
Safety is the other factor right now
另一個(gè)因素是安全
Grocery stores have a very small market share for chicken

and private certification generally is very rare

Most chicken is purchased in open-air wet markets or even illegally live
