Jingjing: Hi Mark! Do you know tomorrow is Children's Day?
京晶：嗨，馬克！你知道明天是兒童節(jié)嗎？
Mark: That's cool. Are you going to see a ceremony for the Young Pioneers?
馬克：不錯呢。你會去看少先隊的慶祝儀式嗎？
Jingjing: Maybe not this year. I might go with my cousin to the Forbidden City. She has a kid who can get in free tomorrow.
京晶：也許今年不看了吧。我可能會和表姐去故宮玩。她的孩子明天去故宮免門票。
Mark: Yeah, I remember reading that kids under 14 get free admission. It's not a weekend. So, even if it's swamped with little girls and boys, you'd have an easy time seeing over their heads.
馬克：是呀，我記得在哪兒看到過說是14歲以下的孩童免票。也不是周末，所以，如果故宮里到處都是小朋友們，你也能很容易地越過他們的頭參觀嘛。
Jingjing: Hmm, I might feel like a giant there. Do you have any special plans?
京晶：我可能會覺得自己是個巨人哦。你有什么特別的計劃？
Mark: Well, it'll be a regular workday for me. Maybe I'll get an ice cream on my way to work. You know that one that looks like a face? I haven't outgrown that kind of thing.
馬克：嗯，對我而言就是一個普通的工作日罷了。也許上班路上給自己買個冰激凌吃吃吧。你知道特別像人臉的那一款嗎？我還沒長大到能戒掉它們呢。（我現(xiàn)在還很喜歡吃）
Jingjing: Oh, you mean wáwa liăn! I remember eating that as a kid.
京晶：哦！你是說娃娃臉冰激凌！我記得小時候吃過呢。
Mark: That must be a fond memory.
馬克：那一定是有趣的記憶吧。
Jingjing: For sure. My grandparents took me with them to a vegetable market. I was a little bored. So, when we were almost finished, they bought me that ice cream.
京晶：當(dāng)然啰。爺爺奶奶帶著我去菜市場，我覺得挺無聊的，所以等他們快買完的時候，就給我買那種冰激凌。
Mark: It's funny the events we remember from early childhood. How old were you?
馬克：真逗，我們還記得這些小時候發(fā)生過的事。那會兒你多大？
Jingjing: I must have been three or four.
京晶：一定得有個三四歲了吧。
Mark: That's a pretty early memory.
馬克：這記憶真夠早的。
Jingjing: What about you? What do you remember from your early years?
京晶：那你呢？你還記得童年時候發(fā)生過的什么事嗎？
Mark: Nothing comes to mind at the moment, because I have to finish some work now. But let's chat about it on the way out of the office later on.
馬克：一時半會兒什么也想不起來，因為我現(xiàn)在還得去完成一些工作。一會兒我們從辦公室出來的路上再聊吧。
Jingjing: OK. See you a little later.

Dialogue 2

Jingjing and Mark are walking out of the office.
京晶和馬克一起走出了辦公室
Jingjing: So, Mark, do you recall anything from when you were a wee one?
京晶：那，馬克，你回憶起來了當(dāng)你還是個小不點兒時發(fā)生的事了嗎？
Mark: Sure. I remember a few things. Like, when I was in Germany with my mom's side of the family, some kids in the neighborhood had a red wagon. I asked them if it was for me, and they said I could ride in it.
馬克：當(dāng)然。我記得一些。比如說，當(dāng)我和媽媽家的親戚們一起在德國的時候，小區(qū)里有些孩子有紅色的馬車。我問他們這是給我的嗎，他們說我可以在里面騎它。
Jingjing: Could you communicate with people in Germany?
京晶：您能和德國人交流？
Mark: I knew a little German then. Also, my relatives gave me a small suitcase that had a key. I remember, when we got back to our house in the States, I threw the key down the stairs for some reason and then cried for my parents to fetch it for me.
馬克：我那時稍微懂點兒德語。還有就是，我的親戚給了我一個帶鑰匙的小手提箱。我記得，當(dāng)我們回到美國的家中時，我不道為什么就把鑰匙從樓梯上扔了下去，然后哭著喊爸媽給我取回來。
Jingjing: Did they?
京晶：那他們照做了嗎？
Mark: Nope. They told me I lost it myself and I could find it myself. Come to think of it, most of my early memories are about what I could and couldn't do. What about you? Any other memories?
馬克：沒有。他們說既然我自己弄丟的就要自己找回來。現(xiàn)在想想，我大多數(shù)兒時的記憶都是關(guān)于那些我能做的事和我不能做的事。那你呢，還有什么別的記憶嗎？
Jingjing: I remember when I arrived at school one day and realized that I am only myself, independent from everyone else. I was looking around at all the other kids, realizing that only I was me.
京晶：我記得有一天我到學(xué)校的時候，我意識到一件事那就是我是我自己，不是別人，是自己。我看著周圍其他的孩子，意識到時候我才是我自己。
Mark: Wow, that's pretty philosophical. Did you talk with anyone about it?
馬克：哇，好哲學(xué)哦。你跟別人談起過這事嗎？
Jingjing: I didn't. That's probably why I still remember it. I had my own thought and kept it to myself.
京晶：沒有呢。這也許是為什么我至今還記得這事的原因吧。我有了自己的想法，從未對別人說起過。
Mark: Yeah, and it was a thought about being your own person. That's kind of an epiphany.
馬克：是呀，一種關(guān)于你成為你自己的思考，有點像某種頓悟呢。
Jingjing: Pretty cool what we remember, huh?
京晶：我們還能記得這些是真不錯呢。
Mark: Yeah, going from home life to school life is something that leaves a vivid impression on a young child. It's cool that you had your own idea about it and remember it to this day.
馬克：是啊，從家庭生活到校園生活是能夠給一個年輕的孩子留下清晰印象的事。你有自己的想法，直到今天都還記得這些，挺好的。
