On Friday, authorities in Charleston, West Virginia have said that two people were killed when a cargo plane veered off an airport runaway and crashed into the hillside.

Early reports suggested that the plane made a hard landing with one of the wings striking the runaway at Yeager Airport, causing the plane to cartwheel.

Officials have said that both the the pilot and co-pilot have died, with no other people believed to be have been on board.

Airport spokesman Mike Plante told reporters that the flight was routine, and there was nothing to indicate the plane was having trouble landing.
