Uber, a ride-hailing service, and Volvo, * carmaker owned by Geely of China, announced a non-exclusive alliance to develop self-driving cars. Uber plans to deploy around 100 autonomous vehicles in Pittsburgh in the coming months. Ford said it planned to launch a mass-market, fully autonomous vehicle in 2021, aimed at the driverless-taxi market.
