Patrick Hickey, Europe’s most senior official on the International Olympic Committee, was arrested on suspicion of ticket touting. Police said the raid on Mr Hickey’s hotel room in Rio de Janeiro was connected to the arrest on August 5th of Kevin James Mallon, director of THG Sports, a sports-hospitality company accused of illegally reselling tickets.
