I was blessed enough this last Chinese Fashion Week to be invited

This enabled me to get some amazing photos of the shows

There must be techniques, special ways of doing fashion photography.

If I went in with an iPhone I would not get the photos you are getting

That is true—I have tried to do the shows on my phone—it just was not possible

On the iPhone if you are doing videos, videos are great

but when you take photos you get the motion blur—it is very difficult to get great photos

On the Canon, on correct settings you can get some amazing photos

The iPhone—you cannot set the speed, cannot really do the aperture or anything

You cannot set the speed but what I do sometimes—I watch people next to me who are getting decent photos on their iPhones

I noticed that the ones getting decent photos—they were actually moving at the same pace as the model

What's your secret, what's the setting

It is a setting called TV mode—what it does is it freezes moving objects
這個設置叫做TV（快門優先）模式，能夠將移動的物體凍結
You can set the level to what degree you want them to freeze
你能夠隨意設置物體的凍結程度
So even if somebody jumps in the air—you can make them look like they are floating in the air, on this TV mode
即便有人跳到空中，你能夠讓他們看起來像是漂浮在空中，這就是TV（快門優先）模式的特點
Do you have to set the light at the same time or does it do it automatically
您是否需要同時設置光線，或是光線自動調整？
Photography is all about light—that is the trick

Whenever I go to a show or I have to take photos—before the show starts I will start taking practice photos
每當我去秀場或需要拍照時，在走秀開始前，我都會拍攝樣張
That way you can set your camera because each show is going to be different

If the lights keep changing, you may have to keep changing your settings

I try not to—especially for the shows I find they do not work so well

I find if an object is moving then I cannot work on automatic

I have noticed a big difference in colour—sometimes you are in ‘automatic’ mode you get the colours all bleached out—not realistic

Setting it using TV, setting it very carefully, you can get pretty accurate colours

It is all to do with the light balance

Sometimes it is really difficult to get the correct colours
有時，還原正確的色彩是一件很難的事
But at least you can set it to a colouring that you like and find attractive
但至少能夠得到你喜歡且吸引人的色彩
