The Nightmare Machine is an artificial intelligence project created by three researchers at the MIT Media Lab. They've figured out "how to create the most horrifying human faces possible" with the help of deep learning algorithms. A message on the Nightmare Machine's homepage reads, "Warning: Images on this website are generated by deep learning algorithms and may not be suitable for all users." The scariest images look like faces from hell with flayed skin, blood, and blackened eye sockets. What might be the scariest part of the faces is that the machine "learned everything it knows about horror by watching us."
