Samsung said in a statement, "We recognize the concerns around the discontinuation of the Galaxy Note 7 and are currently reviewing possible options that can minimize the environmental impact of the recall in full compliance with relevant local environmental regulations."
In October, Samsung permanently ended sales of the explosion-prone Galaxy Note 7 and are in the process of recalling them. Environmental group Greenpeace demanded the smartphone maker to find a way to reuse materials such as cobalt, gold, palladium, and tungsten instead of just throwing out the recalled phones. Samsung did not reply to Greenpeace directly.
