地點(diǎn)：莫妮卡和錢德勒的公寓客廳
人物：錢德勒，莫妮卡
事件：莫妮卡和錢德勒這個(gè)月的銀行賬單到了，因?yàn)殄X德勒現(xiàn)在不賺錢，他們便有點(diǎn)入不敷出。莫妮卡想向父母借錢，但是從小受到的特殊教育告訴錢德勒，借錢是不好的。

Monica: What happened to all of our money?
莫妮卡：我們的存款去哪兒了？
Chandler: Well, I'm not sure exactly what they did, but I'm inclined to blame Enron.
錢德勒：我也不知道他們做了些什么，但依我看，該怪安然公司。
Monica: I guess with you doing the internship, we're just spending more than we're bringing in.
莫妮卡：我覺得因?yàn)槟悻F(xiàn)在在實(shí)習(xí)，所以我們有些入不敷出。
Chandler: Yeah, maybe I should quit and get a job that pays.
錢德勒：是啊，或許我該辭掉這個(gè)工作，再找個(gè)有薪水的工作。
Monica: Oh... But you're finally doing something that you love! I can't ask you to give that up. Though it'd be nice if the thing that you love was... y'know... finding gold.
莫妮卡：哦……但你好不容易做上了你喜歡的工作，我可不能讓你放棄。但是如果你喜歡的是……你知道……淘金什么的就更好了。
Chandler: You know what? You know what? I think we're making too big a deal out of this. OK? So we pay our bills a little late this month. And maybe next month we cut back on a few things. And maybe we start eating out of Joey's refrigerator for a change. You're a chef, what can you make out of baking soda and beer?
錢德勒：你知道嗎？你知道嗎？我覺得咱們有點(diǎn)小題大做了。無(wú)非是這月的賬單遲點(diǎn)付。下個(gè)月省一省?；蛘呶覀兏某詥桃帘淅锏臇|西。你是個(gè)廚師，用蘇打粉和啤酒能做出什么來(lái)？
Monica: Alright, worst case scenario is we borrow some money from my parents.
莫妮卡：好吧，最壞的情況就是大不了向我爸媽借些錢。
Chandler: No! We're not borrowing money.
錢德勒：不！我們不能借錢。
Monica: Why not?
莫妮卡：為什么？
Chandler: Because we don't do that. We are Bings! And if there's one thing my father taught me was... well, to always knock before going into the pool house... But the other thing was never borrow money.
錢德勒：因?yàn)槲覀儾蛔鲞@樣的事。我們是賓家的人！要說(shuō)我從我爸那里學(xué)到什么的話，那就是……進(jìn)泳池別墅之前一定要敲門……還有就是永遠(yuǎn)不向人借錢。
Monica: Wow! I had no idea you had this much pride.
莫妮卡：哇，我還真不知道你有這么強(qiáng)的自尊心。
Chandler: That's right! I do! I'm your man. And I'm gonna get us through this situation even if it means you working twice as hard.
錢德勒：沒錯(cuò)！我自尊心很強(qiáng)的！我是你老公，我有辦法讓我們度過(guò)難關(guān)，即使是需要你加倍努力地工作。
