Phil Fixit can fix things.
菲爾·修理先生能夠修理物品。
He's not a professional.
他不是專業技工，
He just enjoys fixing things.
只是喜歡修理東西而已。
He paints things, too.
他也會為物品上漆，
But he's careful not to spill any paint!
可是他會小心，不把漆灑出來！
His favorite things to fix are noisy windows and doors.
他最喜歡修理的東西是會發出吵雜聲響的窗戶和門。
But Phil cannot fix everything.
不過，菲爾不是什么東西都會修理。
Phil calls a professional for plumbing problems.
遇到水管問題，他還是會找專業人士來處理。
If he doesn't, he might flood his house!
他要是自己修，說不定會導致全家淹水！

Yes, I do. I enjoy fixing things.

What kinds of things do you fix?
你都修理什么樣的東西？
I do all kinds of repairs. I also paint things.
我會做各種修理工作，也會幫忙上漆。
Is painting hard?
油漆很難嗎？
It's not hard. But don't spill any paint!
不難，可是別把漆灑出去喲！

How did you learn to do so many things?
你是怎么學會做這么多事情的？
I read books and searched the Internet.
我看書，也上網搜尋。
If you can follow directions, you can fix things.
只要懂得照指示做，你也能夠修理東西。
I can't. I'm not good with tools.
我沒辦法，我不太會使用工具。
You just need more practice with them!
你只是需要多練習而已！
Maybe! So Phil, what is your favorite thing to fix?

I like fixing windows and doors.
我喜歡修理窗戶和門。
When they are noisy, I make them quiet!
窗戶和門如果會發出吵雜的聲響，我就會修理讓它們靜悄悄！

No. I can fix some things, but professionals should fix other things.
不會。我會修一些東西，可是另外有些東西需要交給專業人員修。

Well, like plumbing.

If you don't do it right, you might flood your house.
要是方法不對，自己修理可能會導致家里淹水。
Right. Cleaning up after a flood is a lot of work.
沒錯，淹水后的清理工作可得花上許多工夫。
Also, you need expensive tools for some jobs.
還有，有些工作需要用上昂貴的工具，
Hire someone to do those.
這類工作就雇人來做吧。
Yes. That is cheaper than buying the tools!
沒錯，雇人來修比買那些工具便宜！
