The Love Letter
一封情書
The phone rang at the police station.
警察局的電話響了起來，
It was a high school student named Keira.
來電者是個(gè)名叫琪耶拉的高中生。
She found a strange note in her locker, and she was worried about it.
她在她的置物柜里發(fā)現(xiàn)了一張奇怪的紙條，她覺得很擔(dān)心。
I went to her school and found her in the hall with a friend.
我到她的學(xué)校去，發(fā)現(xiàn)她和一個(gè)朋友在走廊上。
"Thanks for coming, Mr. E," Keira said.
E先生，謝謝你來。
She held up the note.
琪耶拉說， 她舉起那張紙條，
It was a love letter.
是一封情書。
"You called about a love letter?" I asked.
妳為了一封情書而報(bào)警？我問。
"This is serious, Mr. E!" said Keira's friend.
E先生，這很嚴(yán)重！琪耶拉的朋友說，
"If a boy sent this note, he must like Keira!"
如果這張紙條是個(gè)男孩放的，那么他一定喜歡琪耶拉！。
"That is serious. Let me see the note," I said.
這樣確實(shí)很嚴(yán)重， 把紙條給我看看。我說。
It was colorful with many phrases on it.
那是一張色彩鮮艷的紙條，上面寫了許多詞句。
But a big question was in the center
不過，中央寫著一個(gè)大問題
Will you be my Valentine, Keira?
琪耶拉，妳愿意和我交往嗎？
The note had a sweet smell.
紙張還有一股香甜的氣味。
I knew the smell but couldn't remember what it was from.
我認(rèn)得那股氣味，但記不得在什么地方聞過。
I looked at the phrases on the note
我看著紙條上的詞句
TRUE LOVE, BE MINE and SO SWEET.
真愛、成為我的以及如此甜美。
"Do you get a lot of candy on Valentine's Day?" I asked.
妳在情人節(jié)會(huì)收到很多糖果嗎？我問。
"No, but a couple of people shared candy in class today," said Keira.
不會(huì)，可是今天班上有兩個(gè)人和大家分享了糖果，
"Beth brought chocolates, and Justin brought candy hearts."
琪耶拉回答， 貝絲帶了巧克力，賈斯汀帶了心形糖果。
"I think Justin likes you," I said.
我認(rèn)為賈斯汀喜歡妳，我說，
"These phrases were copied from candy hearts.
這些詞句是從心形糖果上抄下來的。
And the note smells like them, too."
而且這張紙條也有心形糖果的味道。
