The Unwanted Gift
一份不想要的禮物
The office was having a Secret Santa party.
辦公室辦了個神秘圣誕老人的派對，
Everyone had to bring a gift for someone else.
每個人都要帶一件禮物送給另一個人。
First, Bob opened his gift.
包柏第一個開他的禮物，
It was a nice sweater.
是一件好看的毛衣。
Next it was Cindy's turn.
再來輪到辛迪，
She got a gift card and loved it!
她收到一張禮物卡，她愛死了！
Finally it was Peter's turn.
最后終于輪到彼得，
His gift was wrapped in a long box.
他的禮物是包在一個長盒子里。
Peter opened the box slowly.
彼得慢慢打開盒子，
Everyone was watching.
大家都盯著看。
Inside the box was a tie.
盒子里面是一條領帶，
It was from Peter's friend June.
是彼得的朋友瓊恩送的。
She bought the tie because Peter liked ties a lot.
她買這條領帶因為彼得非常喜歡領帶，
He would like this tie, too!
那他也應該會喜歡這條。
Peter smiled at June, but he wasn't happy.
彼得對著瓊恩笑了笑，但是他并不高興。
"This tie looks really ugly," he thought.
這條領帶真丑。他心里這么想。
Still, June was a really nice lady, and Peter wanted to make her happy.
然而瓊恩是一位非常和善的女士，彼得想要讓她高興。
If Peter didn't wear the tie, June would feel upset.
如果彼得不戴這條領帶，瓊恩可能會難過。
What could Peter do?
彼得該怎么辦？
He didn't want to hurt June's feelings.
他不想傷害瓊恩的感情。
He could wear the tie to work once.
他可以戴著這條領帶去上班一次，
Then she would see it and feel happy.
那她就會看到而覺得開心。
But it was Peter's gift.
但那是給彼得的禮物，
It should make him happy!
它應該要讓他開心才對！
If he returned the tie to the store, he could get a better one instead.
如果他拿這條領帶去店里退換，他可以換到一條更好看的，
But then June would feel bad.
但是瓊恩就可能會難過。
