第72課 拯救世界
A student is talking to her teacher. (S=student; T=teacher)

I hear that scientists are planning to study asteroids and meteors, right?

Yes. They want to determine whether Earth is in danger of being struck by such a rock.
對。他們要判定地球是否會有被那種石頭撞上的危險。
What if they discover that a big one is coming straight for us?
如果他們發現有一顆大石頭直接朝我們來怎么辦？
In that case, there are two things they can do. They can launch rockets to push the rock off its course.
那樣的話, 他們能做的有兩件事。他們可以發射火箭將石頭推離軌道。
So that it will miss Earth, right?
這樣的話石頭便撞不著地球了, 對不對？
Right. And if that fails, we can try destroying the rock with nuclear missiles.
對。這個方法不成功的話, 我們還可以嘗試用核子導彈來摧毀石塊。
