In the past, the children of Asia had very few choices.
在過(guò)去,生長(zhǎng)在亞洲的小孩子沒(méi)有什么選擇可言。
A son would usually follow in his father's footsteps and do the same kind of job as his father.

But now, young people have higher education which opens doors to new kinds of jobs.

TV exposes kids to new ideas from other countries.
電視使得孩子們接觸到來(lái)自其他國(guó)家的新觀念。
So, the younger generations of Asians are doing things their parents never dreamed of.
所以,亞洲年輕一代的人現(xiàn)在在做一些他們父母親做夢(mèng)也沒(méi)想到的事情。
They're investing in stocks or dying their hair purple.
他們?cè)谧龉善蓖顿Y或把頭發(fā)染成紫色。
Unfortunately, some are also getting into trouble with sex and drugs.
不幸的是,有一些卻受到色情和毒品的侵害。
Asian parents whose children are doing all this do have a reason to be worried.
亞洲籍的父母若其子女有這樣的表現(xiàn),則的確有理由會(huì)操心的。
