5. Bungee Jumping
第5課 蹦極
Bungee jumping looks like fun.
蹦極看起來(lái)蠻好玩的。
It makes me nervous just to watch someone do it.
光是看別人做這件事就會(huì)讓我緊張。
It certainly takes a lot of guts to jump one thousand feet above the water with only a rope tied to your legs.
雙腿只用一條繩索綁著，從水面上一千尺的高度跳下的確需要很大的膽量。
It scares me just to think about it.
光是想到這點(diǎn)就夠讓我害怕的了。
However, it is something I really want to do one day.
可是，這是我總有一天真的想做的事。
Some people think I'm crazy.
有些人認(rèn)我瘋了。
They say to jump is foolish enough,
他們說(shuō)去跳就已經(jīng)夠蠢了，
but to have to pay for it is madness.
而還要付錢則不啻為瘋狂的行為。
I don't agree.
我并不同意。
For me, to live a short and exciting life is far better than to live a long and boring one.
對(duì)我來(lái)說(shuō)，過(guò)個(gè)短暫而刺激的生比過(guò)漫長(zhǎng)卻無(wú)聊的日子好得多。
