ANJALI RAO, TALK ASIA:She stormed onto the international stage with this anthem of teenage angst. Nine years later and with this, her latest single, Canadian singer-songwriter Avril Lavigne still proves to be a firm favorite. One of the things that's really interesting about you is that when you look at songs that are, you know, the more upbeat ones like Girlfriend, they're really sort of bratty happy, but then the more slow tempo ones like When You're Cone, they're a lot more thoughtful and kind of anguished in a way. Does that contradiction tell us something about you as a person?

AVRIL LAVIGNE, SINGER-SONGWRITER:Yeah. As a human being I have different emotions and there's a side... I'm a very deep person. Sometimes I can be very serious and introverted and quiet and, you know, I think a lot and that's why I'm a songwriter, because I go to that place. And of course, then there's a side of me that, you know, (is)just a chick. I like to have fun, I like to be spontaneous, I like to live on the edge a little. So, you know, I love with my music to have that Diversity and to go out on stage and to rock out and to have my guitar and run around, but I also love the feeling of just sitting down at a piano and just singing alone to that.So, that's why music's great. I get to express all the different sides, and different emotions to (of) me as a person.

詞曲創作歌手艾薇兒：嗯，確實，自從我的第一張專輯發行以來……我會說我的風格比以往變得更女性化了。在我發行第一張專輯的時候，我穿了很多類似男生的長褲、松垮垮的衣服和那類的東西。我是說，我當時，有點像有男孩子氣的女生，所以你在我的第一張唱片里絕對看不到我穿女裝或高跟鞋。現在我比較注重時尚，也有自己的服飾品牌，叫做Abbey Dawn，幾年前我創立了這個品牌。時尚也和我的音樂密不可分。比如說，我需要拍很多照片和影片，也要在舞臺上表演，所以我總是不斷地想自己要穿什么、想穿什么，要怎么表達自我。所以，人們能夠隨著我的每一張專輯看到我的變化，看到來看表演的歌迷模仿我的風格，確實很有趣。我出第一張專輯的時候……人群里有很多小朋友像我一樣系著領帶。現在你會看到很多女孩子染了粉紅色的頭發，確實很酷。
《亞洲名人聊天室》安姿麗：去年年初，艾薇兒以自己的名字命名成立了一個基金會，目的在于和其他慈善機構合作，呼喚大家關注并扶助患病或有殘疾的兒童與青少年。你近來確實通過你的艾薇兒基金會對社會回饋很多。跟我談談這一點，還有能夠做這樣的事情，做些很棒的善事，對你有什么意義。
詞曲創作歌手艾薇兒：我有很多機會可以回饋社會，從事慈善工作、出席慈善活動、參與各種不同的慈善項目之類的。基本上，我只是想要再進一步，盡一己之力來回饋社會。我想要成立自己的基金會已經有好長一段時間了。現在我才剛起步，我很興奮，因為這一定會是一段內容很豐富的學習過程。我已等不及要讓我的歌迷參與其中，讓他們一起奉獻愛心。我現在正在做一些計劃。
