1. stare at

凝視，盯住

eg. Every time we stopped, everybody would stare at me.

每次我們停下來，每個人都會盯著我們。

eg. I enjoyed hanging out by the water. I would sit there for hours and stare at my reflection.

我喜歡沿著湖水散步，在湖邊一坐就是幾個小時，長久地凝視著自己的倒影。

2. in shock

休克；處于極度震驚狀態

eg. While sitting there on that plane, I was still very upset, and in shock over what I had witnessed.

當坐在飛機上的時候，我還是感到很不安，并對我所看到的事情感到震驚。

eg. We always hope the preyanimal is in shock while this is happening, as there would be nothing we coulddo to speed up the prey animal’s death in any case.

3. Take Me Back

eg. Well, if I left a good impression on my boss (as you always should) then he'll likely be happy to take me back or at least refer me to someone else in need in the industry.

eg. I hoped it would be one of the guys, telling me that they would take me back.
