Our journey starts in the far south west,
我們的旅程始自遙遠(yuǎn)的非洲西南部
in the oldest and strangest corner of the continent.
是非洲大陸上最古老最人跡罕至的角落
Here, the thirsty land is covered
在這里 干涸的大地
with thousands upon thousands of circles.
被成千上萬個(gè)神秘怪圈所覆蓋
We still don't know their origins.
我們至今未知它們的成因
Poisonous plants, foraging insects
有毒植物 覓食昆蟲
and even magnetism have all been suggested,
甚至磁場(chǎng)都曾被列為假設(shè)原因
but each ruled out.
但最終均被排除
The circles don't move, and their shape never varies.
那些圓圈不會(huì)移動(dòng) 亦不會(huì)變化
They're unchanging, much like this part of Africa itself.
如同非洲這一片地區(qū)一樣 亙古不變
Ancient and arid, it almost never rains on this land,
古老而又干旱 這片土地幾乎從不降雨
yet there is water here, hidden away.
但卻有水源存在 只是深深隱藏了
To survive here, life must use every trick in the book.
想要在這里生存 所有生靈都必須使出各門絕活
