My sister, a primary school teacher,was informed byone of her pupils that a bird had built its nest in the tree outside the classroom.

"What kind of bird?" my sister asked.

我們來分析下be informed by和being informed by

兩個都是正確的，那么關于用法：

"被sb告知"用在句首時，應該用being informed by sb還是be informed by sb?

例句如下：

Li was informed by Jack that he had to pay 20 for the book.

李被杰克告知，他必須為那本書賠付20元。

be informed by這里是做謂語。

LI,being informed by Jack he had to pay 20 for the book then,was playing cards.

李，當時被告知必須為那本書賠付20元的時候，正在打牌。

being informing by這里是做定語。

Summary：

being形式要么是分詞，現(xiàn)在分詞或者過去分詞，即，謂語。

要么是做定語，這個時候即非謂語。所以第二例句有was playing cards這個謂語。
