Taiwan leader Ma Ying-Jeou also expressed great concerns over the illegally arrested of 14 Hong Kong activists who landed on the Diaoyu Islands. He held an emergency meeting and established a working team to prepare for any emergency circumstances. Taiwan foreign affairs authority also demanded the immediate release of the Hong Kong activists.
臺灣領導人馬英九也嚴正表達了對14位非法遭捕保釣人士安危的深切關心。他召開了緊急會議并組建了工作小組以備任何緊急狀況的發生。臺灣外事局也要求日方立即無條件釋放香港保釣人士。
Steve Xia, Spokesperson of Taiwan Foreign Affairs Authorities, said, "We hope the situation develops stably and peacefully. The Japanese side should release the activists who landed on the Diaoyu Islands as soon as possible."
