2. It means "to state or declare sth forcefully, esp when other people oppose or disbelieve one". 中文意思是 堅(jiān)持說, 固執(zhí)地聲稱（尤指別人反對(duì)或不信時(shí)）。我們來看下面的例句：

Eg. She kept insisting on her innocence.她堅(jiān)持說她是清白的。（備注：keep doing 堅(jiān)持不斷地做某事）

Eg. He insisted that he should be innocent. 他堅(jiān)持說她是清白的。（備注：that he should be innocent賓語從句中使用了虛擬語氣）

3. It means "to continue doing sth even though other people think it is annoying". 中文意思不顧別人的厭惡，反對(duì)等繼續(xù)堅(jiān)持做某事。

Eg. They insist on playing their music late at night.夜深了，他們依然在放音樂。
