【今日話題】

在大年三十晚上，我寫了一段有趣的日記，再次和大家分享 ——大年三十晚上 is called Spring Festival as well. Spring Festival is the most important Chinese festival in a year. Every household 貼春聯 on his doors and walls。The old and the young all 穿新裝. On New Year's Eve, each family 團聚在一起， eating, talking and watching TV for almost the whole night. Children like to放鞭炮 and we open all the lights to wait for the new year to come. During the festival,the relatives and friends would 竄門to send New Year's greetings to each other.We can see colorful睡蓮船, 荷花燈,紅燈籠, 春聯, which composes a festive and joyful scene! 大年三十晚上就是“春節”，春節是中國人民最重要的節日。一到春節，家家戶戶都貼春聯，老老少少皆穿新裝。全家人都聚在一起吃團圓飯，又是說又是笑，邊看電視，邊等著新年的到來。小孩子喜歡放鞭炮。在春節期間，親朋好友之間要互相拜訪，互相問候。我們可以看到彩蓮船、荷花燈、紅燈籠、春聯，一個個喜慶的場面則一幅幅美麗的畫簾。

1. couplet ['kʌplit] 對句，對聯

Eg .This antithetical couplet is my father's handwriting. 這幅對聯是父親的親筆。

2. firecracker ['faiəˌkrækə] 鞭炮

Eg .Chinese children like to buy many firecrackers before the Spring Festival. 中國孩子會在春節前買很多鞭炮。The firecracker went off and scared my dog. 爆竹響了，嚇了我的狗一跳。
注解：go off 爆炸 例句：Be careful, or that gun might go off. 小心，否則那槍可能會走火。

Eg . The new year is about to come again, let's bid farewell to the past in 2011. Let us work together usher in a better future in 2012! 新的一年又即將來到，告別了過去的2011年。讓我們在2012年攜手共進迎來美好未來！
