首先，let's have a review. 您還記得在第七課第一講中我們講述的與“be scared to death”同義的地道美語表述法嗎？它是：make one's hair stand on end , 與以下我們中文四字短語同義：毛骨悚然，不寒而栗，懾人心寒等等。

不知道大家看過這部電影以沒有？這部電影曾在葡萄牙國際電影節(jié)上一口氣拿下了最佳導(dǎo)演獎(jiǎng)和最佳女主角獎(jiǎng)，導(dǎo)演是：尹宗仙，女主角是：張真英。這是一部韓國恐怖篇，名字就叫做《毛骨悚然》。這部電影不賣弄神鬼，而是靠音效和場(chǎng)景營造陰氣。I saw it and made my blood run cold. 我看了這部電影，令我毛骨悚然。大家注意聽了嗎，我今天用了一個(gè)含有make, m-a-k-e 這個(gè)使役動(dòng)詞的動(dòng)詞短語結(jié)構(gòu)表述“毛骨悚然”的意思。I repeat it again. Listen carefully. Are you ready? Here we go.

【今日課堂講述】

I saw it and made my blood run cold. I saw it and made my blood run cold. Well ,what's it.? It is: make one's blood run cold. Blood 是血，"run cold" means "become cold". 它們連在一起就是“讓血變冷了”，也就是我們中文說的“嚇得渾身冰涼”。

Let's look at two more sentences to get a grasp of it and use it with ease. 1 The thunder makes her blood run cold, walking back home with a small umbrella in the heavy rain. 她撐著一把小雨傘頂著傾盆大雨走在回家的路上，雷聲嚇得她毛骨悚然。（備注：這個(gè)長句中walking back home with a small umbrella in the heavy rain是現(xiàn)在分詞短語做時(shí)間狀語。）2 It made the old woman's blood run cold that she was robbed by two young guys with a sharp sword. 這位老婦人遭到2個(gè)年輕男子的搶劫，被嚇得毛骨悚然。
