首先，let's have a review. 您還得我們在第六課中講到的與“make somebody slightly angry”和“cause somebody trouble”同義的美語在spoken English （口語）上的說法嗎？它是：get in one's hair 打攪（妨礙，打擾）某人；激怒（惹怒）某人。

現在我們開始第七課的學習。Lesson seven: How to say "毛骨悚然" in American English? 第七課：“毛骨悚然”，美語怎么說？

“毛骨悚然”這個短語在我們中國文學上廣泛流傳沿用。古代文學《東周列國志》中寫到：“清王聞之，不覺毛骨悚然”。現代文學巴金老先生的作品《春》中寫到：“淑英看到毛骨悚然，淑華看到怒氣沖天。”若是您跟一位美國作家談論期這些中國名著，那還真得好好學習how to say "毛骨悚然" in American English.

“毛骨悚然”中的“悚然”意思是“恐懼的樣子”。身上毛發豎起，脊梁骨發冷。用之來形容十分恐懼，極其害怕。So , how to say it in English? We might as well listen to the following sentence: It was that movie that have ever made my hair stand on end. 就是那部電影曾經使我看后毛骨悚然，至今還記憶尤新。在這個句子中，用了一個含有使役動詞make, m-a-k-e的一個動詞短語結構來表述“毛骨悚然”，它是：make one's hair stand on end. Hair 是毛發，stand on end是豎起來，make one's hair stand on end連在一起就是：被嚇得毛發都立起來了。It is similar to saying "be scared to death" （被嚇死了）。How vividly American use it to give a description of what a man looks like when he's frightened.

Let's look at two more sentences to get a grasp of it in order to use it with ease. １　It really makes my hair stand on end the moment I think that I've been alone in that building in the darkness．每當我想起我曾經獨自一人在黑夜中呆在那幢樓里，我就毛骨悚然。2 It made my hair stand on end when I know my wallet had been stolen. 我知道我錢包被偷了，我嚇得渾身毛骨悚然。
