【復(fù)習(xí)回顧】
上次我們說(shuō)道了strange, surprising, natural, unthinkable等一些形容用于主語(yǔ)從句的主句中做表語(yǔ)，那么后面跟的主語(yǔ)從句要使用虛擬語(yǔ)氣，而且主語(yǔ)從句表示出說(shuō)話者或是作者的一種對(duì)某事感到不可思議的感情色彩。
【習(xí)題答案及點(diǎn)評(píng)】
1 真想不到，那家公司會(huì)倒閉。
It is unthinkable that the company go bankrupt.
【點(diǎn)評(píng)】
[陷阱提示] that the company go bankrupt這個(gè)主語(yǔ)從句省略了情態(tài)動(dòng)詞should，因此是go這個(gè)動(dòng)詞的原形，大家可不要畫蛇添足，給它加個(gè)尾巴es。
[單詞詳析] {生詞} bankrupt [ˈbæŋkrʌpt] {中英雙解} It means " without enough money to pay what you owe". 譯為：倒閉的，破產(chǎn)的。{ 例句 } They went bankrupt in 1993. 他們于1993年破產(chǎn)。
[短語(yǔ)詳析] go bankrupt 破產(chǎn)，倒閉，go在這里是作為系動(dòng)詞用了，意為：變得。這個(gè)短語(yǔ)跟be bankrupt是有區(qū)別的，這個(gè)區(qū)別想必大家都清楚了，go bankrupt 是表示一種狀態(tài)的轉(zhuǎn)變，強(qiáng)調(diào)動(dòng)作，而be bankrupt是指這種狀態(tài)

[陷阱提示] that he elder brother, stand aside and not intervene這個(gè)主語(yǔ)從句中在stand 和 not 前省略了情態(tài)動(dòng)詞should。本應(yīng)該是：that he , her elder brother, should stand aside, 省略了should，那就是stand了，不要看到主語(yǔ)是he第三那人稱單數(shù)he，就畫蛇添足給stand加個(gè)小尾巴“s”。此外，and這個(gè)并列連詞連接了2個(gè)并列謂語(yǔ)，是stand aside 和 intervene, 由于又要對(duì)intervene進(jìn)行否定，即：not intervene,那么這樣還不行呀，還需要助動(dòng)詞或者是情態(tài)動(dòng)詞之類的構(gòu)成否定結(jié)構(gòu)的謂語(yǔ)呀，那么在這里有and在，它就和前面的stand aside共同分享一個(gè)情態(tài)動(dòng)詞should, 也就是說(shuō)是：should not intervene.那么把should 省略，是不是就是not intervene了呢？這樣一說(shuō)，大家的疑惑解開了嗎？
[生詞詳解] intervene [ˌintəˈvi:n] { 中英雙解} It means " become involed in a situation in order to improve it or help it " . 譯為：干涉，干預(yù)，介入，出面。{ 用法 } 它和介詞“in”連用，表示“干預(yù)某事，出面介入某事”。{ 例句 } The President intervened personally in the crises. 總理親自出面處理這場(chǎng)危機(jī)。（注意：president的第一個(gè)字母“p”要大些。）She might have been killed if the neighbours hadn't intervened. 要不是鄰居的介入，她可能就沒(méi)命兒了。
[短語(yǔ)翻譯] an elder brother 哥哥 stand aside 站在一邊
[句法] her elder brother 是做主語(yǔ)he的同位語(yǔ)。
3 我們現(xiàn)有的力量不能分散。
It is impossible that force we have be divided.
【點(diǎn)評(píng)】
[陷阱提示] that force we have be divided 這個(gè)主語(yǔ)從句中本應(yīng)該是that force we have should be divided, 翻譯中省略should，因此就是be了，可不要看到主語(yǔ)是force，就把be改成is。
[句法] that force we have be divided 這個(gè)主語(yǔ)從句中有個(gè)定語(yǔ)從句：we have. 這個(gè)定語(yǔ)從句省略了關(guān)系代詞that. 這里注意可不能說(shuō)是省略了關(guān)系代詞which.當(dāng)關(guān)系代詞作賓語(yǔ)是只能是that,不能用which. 即：that force which we have be divided這樣是錯(cuò)誤的，正確的是that force that we have be divided 這樣才是正確的。至于這點(diǎn)我們?cè)诮窈蟮脑玳g課堂中會(huì)講到。
