Last time we learned a sentence pattern: 【從句】If + S + had done. 【主句】 S + should have done. 這個(gè)句式是主句中的主語(yǔ)為第一人稱(chēng)I, we時(shí)可以使用，表示對(duì)過(guò)去的事情的一種假設(shè)，句中所說(shuō)到的情況與過(guò)去的事實(shí)相反。

If I had known about it. I would have told you.

【點(diǎn)評(píng)】1 該句話言外之意就是：I didn't know about it and I couldn't tell you then. 2 該句子在沒(méi)有情境的情況下，可以看作是對(duì)過(guò)去事情的假設(shè)，也可以看作是現(xiàn)在事情的假設(shè)。If I knew about it, I would tell you now.

2 如果我們不去散步的話，我們就可以看到晚會(huì)的開(kāi)頭了。

If we hadn't taken a walk, we would have watched the gala from the beginning.

【點(diǎn)評(píng)】1 此句話，言外之意是：We took a walk and we didn't watch the gala from the beginning. 2 該句子中，有個(gè)“了”字，一看到這個(gè)中文句子，我們就可以體會(huì)到“散步”和“沒(méi)觀看”這2個(gè)動(dòng)作已經(jīng)發(fā)生，過(guò)去了。

3 如果我去醫(yī)院看了Jack, 我會(huì)把他的實(shí)際病情告訴他的。

If I had seen Jack in the hospital, I would have told him the truth about his illness.

【點(diǎn)評(píng)】1 此句話言外之意就是：I didn't go to hospital to see Jack and I didn't tell him the truth about his illness. 2 該句子在沒(méi)有情境的情況下，可以看做是過(guò)去的事情，也可以看做是將來(lái)發(fā)生的事情。因此也可以翻譯為：If I wen to the hospital to see Jack, I would tell him the truth about his illness.

5 如果我那時(shí)候在努力一點(diǎn)的話，我那時(shí)的情況會(huì)好得多。

If I had worked harder, my condition would have been better.

【點(diǎn)評(píng)】1 此句話的言外之意就是：I didn't work harder and my condition weren't better then. 2 該句子中有個(gè)非常明顯的表示時(shí)間的狀語(yǔ)“那時(shí)”，“我沒(méi)有努力”這個(gè)動(dòng)作和“情況不是很好”這一狀態(tài)已經(jīng)過(guò)去了。3 該句子如果翻譯為：If I had worked harder, my condition would have been better then. 那么這個(gè)翻譯是錯(cuò)誤的。因?yàn)楸旧磉@個(gè)句式就已經(jīng)含有過(guò)去這個(gè)時(shí)間在里面，我們?cè)偌由线^(guò)去的模糊概念的時(shí)間狀語(yǔ)，這豈不是化蛇添足了嗎？如果是具體時(shí)間，可以加上。

Mike 老大不小了，可是成天無(wú)所事事，40多歲了還吃媽媽飯，他說(shuō)了一句給別人看不起他的一句話：If my father had lived, he could have done all this for me. 要是我的父親還活著的話，這一切他都可以幫我做的。此句話言外之意就是：My father died and he had no ability to do all this for me.
