We've learnt many ways to ask somebody to speak out hid words in his bottom heart. Guys, have you remembered? They are: Get is out in the open. Give it to me straight. Truth be told. And this morning I would like to share a new one with you which means "Tell me honestly." Often it's used when the speaker wants to know a person's real feelings. What's it? Please listen to the following dialogue and get the answer from it.

A : Level with me. You don't want to date with me, right?
B : Yeah. I don't think you are attractive.

【答疑解惑】
It is "Level with me. " "Level with somebody." is an idiom which means "to tell somebody the truth and not hide any unpleasant facts from them". 意思是：直言相告；對某人說實話。For example: I'll level with you. 我跟您說實話好了。

Talking of 說實話，we have much more expressions. They are as follows:
1 I will be honest with you. 我會向您全盤說出的。

2 Let's be honest with each other. 讓我們坦誠相待。

3 You have to be honest with me. 你必須和我說實話。

I am about to send you some useful idioms relative with "level".

The first one is "on the level"which means "hones or legal". 意思是：合法正當的；誠實的，誠懇的。In north of America it is said as"on the up and up". Both of them are similar to saying "above board" we've learnt before. Look at following sentences: I am not convinced that he is on the level. 我不相信他是誠懇的。Are you sure this deal is on the level? 你確定這筆交易是合法的嗎？

The second is "try or do your level best to do something" which means "to do as much as you can to achieve something". 意思是：盡自己最大的努力，竭盡全力，全力以赴。For example: I tried my level best to get him to increase my salary but it was clearly no go. 我已盡力讓他給我增加薪水, 但顯然行不通. We did our level best to carry him over and at last succeeded. 我們盡力爭取他，到底成功了。

The third one is "a level playing field" which means "a situation in which everyone has the same oppotunity". 意思是：人人均等的機會。For example:Having said all this, I wish to stress that in Hong Kong we remain fully committed to a free and fair market and a level playing field. 說到這里，我想強調一點，香港仍然全力確保市場自由開放和維持公平競爭的環境。
