Mother Pig's Joke
豬媽媽的玩笑
Once upon a time a little pig lived in a little house.
從前，有一只小豬住在一座小房子里。
He lived there with his mother.
他和他媽媽一起住在那里。
Two very fine apple trees grew in Mother Pig's front yard.
豬媽媽的前院里長著兩棵非常好的蘋果樹。
They had big red apples on them.
樹上結滿了大紅蘋果。
One morning Little Pig said, I wish I had an apple pie.
一天早上小豬說，“我想吃蘋果派”。
Mother Pig said, I will make some apple pies. But first I must go to the store.
豬媽媽說，“我會做一些蘋果派的”。但我得先去一趟商店。
You must stay at home. Don't let any one take the big red apples.
你必須呆在家里。不要讓任何人摘那些大紅蘋果。
Little Pig said, Yes, Mother. I will stay at home and look after the apples.
小豬說，“好的，媽媽。我會呆在家里照看蘋果的”。
So Mother Pig took her basket and went to the store.
于是，豬媽媽挎著籃子去了商店。
By and by White Cow came along.
沒過多久，來了一頭白奶牛。
"What fine red apples!" she said.
“多好的紅蘋果啊！”她說。
"May I have one?"
“我可以摘一個嗎？”
"No, no,? White Cow," said Little Pig.
“不可以，不可以，白奶牛”，小豬說。
Mother is going to make apple pies for dinner today.
我媽媽今天要做蘋果派當晚餐吃。
Come back this evening, and I will ask her to give you a pie.
今晚再來，我會叫我媽媽給你一個蘋果派的。
Mother Pig's apple pies are fine.
我媽媽做的蘋果派非常好吃。
"All right," said White Cow, and away she went down the road.
“好吧”，白奶牛說，她就離開了。
Soon Gray Pony came along.
不一會兒，來了一匹灰色的小馬。
"Hello, Little Pig!" he said.
“你好，小豬”！他說。
What fine red apples you have on your trees! May I have one?
你家蘋果樹上長的紅蘋果真好呀！我可以摘一個嗎？
Little Pig shook his head and said," No, no, Gray Pony.
小豬搖著頭說，“不可以，不可以，小灰馬”。
Mother is going to make apple pies today.
我媽媽今天要做蘋果派。
She makes very good apple pies.
她做的蘋果派非常好吃。
If you come back this evening, I will ask her to give you a pie."
如果你今晚再來的話，我會叫我媽媽給你一個蘋果派。
"All right," said Gray Pony; and away he went.
“好吧，”小灰馬說；然后他就走了。
Then Billy Goat came along.
這時，山羊比利走了過來。
"What big red apples!" he said.
“好大的紅蘋果啊！”他說。
“I'll just take three or four.
我要摘三四個。
"No, no, Billy Goat," said Little Pig.
“不行，不行，山羊比利”，小豬說。
"Mother wants to make apple pies.
“我媽媽要做蘋果派”。
If you come back this evening, I will ask her to give you a pie."
如果你今晚再來的話，我會叫她給你一個蘋果派。
But Billy Goat shook the tree and took four of the big red apples.
但是山羊比利還是搖了搖蘋果樹，然后拿走四個大紅蘋果。
"I will come back for the pie, too," he said.
“我還會回來吃蘋果派的”，他說。
By and by Mother Pig came home.
沒過多久，豬媽媽回來了。
Little Pig told her about White Cow, Gray Pony; and Billy Goat.
小豬跟她說了白奶牛、小灰馬和山羊比利的事情。
Mother Pig said, I do not like old Billy Goat.
豬媽媽說，我不喜歡老山羊比利。
I think I will play a joke on him.
我要跟他開個玩笑。
Little Pig helped his mother make apple pies all that morning.
整個早上，小豬都在幫他媽媽做蘋果派。
Mother Pig said, Now I will make a very big pie for Billy Goat.
豬媽媽說，現在我要給山羊比利做一個大大的派。
That evening White Cow and Gray Pony and Billy Goat came to dinner.
那天晚上白奶牛、小灰馬和山羊比利都來吃晚飯了。
They all sat down at the table.
他們都在桌邊坐了下來。
Then Mother Pig put a big pie at each place.
然后，豬媽媽在每個座位上放了一塊大蘋果派。
Billy Goat had the biggest pie, and he began to eat very fast.
山羊比利的派最大，然后他開始吃了起來，吃得非常快。
All at once Billy Goat cried out, Look here! Is this a joke?
突然，山羊比利大叫起來，喂！開什么玩笑啊？
There are no apples in my pie.
我的派里怎么沒有蘋果呢？
Mother Pig laughed and said, You had your apples this morning.
豬媽媽笑著說，因為今天早上，你已經把你的蘋果吃掉了。
They all laughed at Mother Pig's joke.
聽了豬媽媽的笑話，大家都大笑了起來。
But Billy Goat was so angry that he jumped up from the table and ran home.
但是山羊比利非常生氣，他從桌子上跳了起來跑回了家。
