《藍莓之夜》承繼王家衛一貫的電影風格，表達現代人內心的焦慮和苦悶，并特別關注其中的愛情質量和關系。影片中詩意而現代的人物和人物關系，美麗而雋永的音、像格調，都是王家衛的標簽。

鑰匙，一直是很有象征意義的物件。總讓人想到“歸屬”想到“家”。每一串鑰匙背后，似乎都有一段和情感有關的故事。一起來聽下面的一段吧。

Liz: Will you tell me the stories behind those other keys? 說說其他鎖匙的故事好嗎?

Jeremy: What for? 為什么?

Liz: I just wondered how they all ended up here. 我只是好奇它們最后怎么會在這兒。

Jeremy: Pick one. Those belonged to a young couple a few years ago. They were naive enough to believe that they were gonna spend the rest of their lives together. 挑一串。那是幾年前一對年青情侶的。他們天真地相信他們會共度余生。

Liz: Well, what happened? 后來怎樣?

Jeremy: Life happened. Things happened. Yeah, time happened. It's pretty much always the case more or less. 人生變遷。世事變遷，光陰變遷。幾乎一切都不外如是。

Liz: Or maybe one of them ran off with someone else. 又或者其中一個跟別人跑了。

Jeremy: Maybe the feelings just went away. 或者感情淡了。

Liz: What about these? 這一串呢?

Jeremy: Those belonged to a little old lady. Her best friend would pick them up and come to visit her. She dropped them off and I never saw her again. I presumed, I mean, she was pretty old. I presumed she passed away or something. 那是一位老婆婆的。她的好朋友探訪她時會來拿。她留下鎖匙后我就沒再見過她。我猜…我的意思是，她很老了。我猜可能已經過世。

Liz: What about these? 這一串呢?

Jeremy: These keys used to belong to a young lad from Manchester England who made plans and had dreams of running every marathon in this country, starting in New York. He was going to write a journal about his experiences and ended up running a cafe. Later they were given to a Russian girl who loved collecting keys and watching sunsets. Unfortunately, she loved sunsets more than the keys and ended up disappearing into one. 這一串是一個小伙子的。來自英國曼曼徹斯特，有抱負，有夢想。想從紐約馬拉松跑遍美國。他打算把經歷寫成日志，結果卻開了家小餐室。后來鎖匙交給一個俄國少女，她喜歡收集鎖匙和看夕陽，可惜她愛夕陽多過愛這串鎖匙，最后消失在夕陽中。

Liz: Why didn't you go looking for her? 你為什么不去找她?

Jeremy: When I was little me mum used to take me to the park on weekends. She said if I ever got lost I had to stay in one place so that she'd find me. 小時候，我媽周末會帶我去公園。她說要是我迷路了，就站定在一個地方，她會回來找我。

Liz: Does that work? 行得通嗎?

Jeremy: Not really. She got lost once looking for me. 不大通。有一次她找我找到迷了路。

電影里流淌著一切隨緣的情緒，沒有什么是確定的，是不變的。因為life happened. Things happened and time happened. 這里，life happened可以翻譯為，生活就是個這樣子，也可以理解為人生變遷是常態。那么，things happened, time happened, 也就是什么事情都可能會發生，時間一直在變化。我們可以這三個happened翻譯為人生變遷，世事變遷，光陰變遷。

就如同店主Jeremy一樣，最初是個打算跑遍美國，寫游記的青年，最后，ended up running a café. 后面還出現了ended up disappearing，都是end up doing 結構，表示“以……告終”。再比如：You could end up running this company if you play your cards right. 你要是處理得當，到頭來這個公司能歸你掌管。這個短語后面也可以接形容詞或介詞短語，例如，end up dead, 死于非命；end up in prison, 最終鋃鐺入獄。
