For a long time he remained a bachelor.
將I remain用在書信來往中，在客套話之前時，應注意：不可用于第一次寫信中，最好用Ｉam。remain后面的yours是表語，雖中間無須加逗號，但人們仍習慣用。I remain的用法如今已經不普遍使用了。在商業信函中，表示客套一般用I (We) beg to remain。
