Errand：差事, 差使，任務等，這里的run可以理解為執行，去完成 spend：常用詞,花時間做某事，或者是花錢，常用詞組是：spend some time (on)doing sth/spend money on sth

2. Mary Alice Voiceover:"But her afternoons, well, they were spent in the company of men."

Company不是公司的意思，而是陪同，陪伴

3. Maisy: "Anyway, a couple of months later, I started my little hobby...and the most wonderful thing happened. This woman's husband became one of my regulars."

Regular: 規則的, 有秩序的, 經常的,這里是常客的意思。

bail：保證金, 保證人，大家都知道在國外有保釋，付了一定數量錢就可以帶嫌疑犯走，但會受到警察的嚴格監視，而且不準出國，所以法官會叫嫌疑犯交出passport（護照）
denied bail：就是拒絕保釋的意思。
Remand：送還, 還押
