161.重逢
Instead of calling I decided to take a walk down the old street.
我沒有打電話，而是決定沿著那條老街散步過去。
If I bumped into Ursula I would come up with some reason off the top of my head why I was visiting.
如果碰到厄休拉，我會不假思索地說一個我為什么過來的理由。
And so, when office hours were finished, 1 took my things off the shelves and headed downtown!

When I arrived I saw that the area had changed on a large scale一it was now very run down!

An on duty policeman even greeted me and asked if I was lost! I responded that I wasn't, but that I was on business.

He let me go on condition that I leave the area as soon as I was done. I agreed.

Then I noticed that his pistol was on display. Maybe he thought this would comfort me!

Maybe it was on account of the policeman, or the terrible conditions, but I suddenly wanted to leave and never return!
也許是由于這名警察，或者由于那里可怕的環境，我突然想離開，而且永遠不再回來！
Then I saw Ursula! She was beautiful! Nothing like the girl that I remembered! She had obviously been on a diet!

"John? What on earth are you doing here?" she asked.

I was on cloud nine! I mumbled something about seeing the old neighborhood, but then she touched my arm!

I went on and on with my mouth, but in my head I was gone! But what was she doing here?

She responded that she was here on behalf of her mother, who was sick!
她回答說她是為生病的母親而來！
She had only weeks left to live，and then，Ursula said with a tinge of hope.
她只有幾個星期可活了，然后厄休拉抱著一線希望說。
Ursula would resume her career as an organizer for the women's national soccer Olympic team!
她準備重操舊業，當國家女子足球隊奧運代表隊的組織者！
"Are you married?" I blurted out!
"你結婚了嗎？"我沖口問道。
"I don't usually tell people on the average. But no, John. I'm not married!"
"一般來說我是不告訴別人的。不過沒有，約翰。我沒有結婚！"
We were both silent! "Would you like to come in?"
我們兩個人都沉默了！"你想進來嗎？"
