142.In Line at the Library
142.在圖書館排隊
"Hi, Samantha!" Carrie said as she lined up to get a university library card.
"嗨，薩曼莎！"排隊拿借書證的卡麗說。
"Hi, Carrie! Are you finally getting a library card?" Samantha replied.
"嗨，卡麗！你終于要拿到借書證啦？"薩曼莎答道。
"Yep. Professor Bell lifted the ban on my checking out books and gave me the required letter of reference.
"是的，貝爾教授解除了我的借書禁令并給我開了要交的介紹信。
Now I have to get some books and work like crazy to catch up!"
現在我得借幾本書，拼命學習，迎頭趕上！"
"Yeah that was a weird punishment. But I guess that will teach you not to lie about all day!"
"是的，這種懲罰也太不可思議了。但我猜你會吸取教訓，不會成天閑著了! "
Carrie laughed. "I'm not likely to forget that one! At least I took good notes!
卡麗笑了。"我不可能會忘了這次教訓！至少我認真做了筆記！
I have each lecture written down line by line right here!" She said as she showed Samantha the notebook filled with notes.
我在這里一行一行地寫著上課內容！"她邊說邊把寫滿筆記的筆記本給薩曼莎看。
"And you did that all without the readings?" Samantha asked as her face lit up at the excellent notes. "Can I copy them?"
"你沒有閱讀就寫了這么多筆記？"薩曼莎問，看到那么漂亮的筆記，她臉露喜色。"我能抄一下嗎？"
"I was hoping you'd ask! I saw how you didn't lift a finger to write anything down most of the last couple weeks and I was hoping we could make a deal!" Carrie said.
"我正希望你會這么問呢！我看你近幾個星期沒有動手寫任何東西，我正琢磨著我們可以做個交易！"卡麗說。
"I am limited to checking out three books at a time-but I need five!
"我借書受限制，一次只能借三本, 可我需要五本!
I'll let you copy ray notes if you check out two books for me!"
如果你能替我借兩本，我就讓你抄我的筆記！"
"Sure. No problem!" Samantha replied. "But isn't that a lot of reading all at once?"
"好的。沒問題！"薩曼莎回答說。"可你一次是不是讀書太多了？"
"Maybe. But I have a light schedule right now and only eat a light lunch today!
"也許。不過現在我的安排不多，今天我準備隨隨便便吃頓午飯！
I should be able to read it all rather quickly!" Carrie answered as she lifted her bag up and moved forward closer to the desk.
我應該能很快把這些書讀完！"卡麗說，她舉起書包，朝書桌那邊挪了挪。
"Just work under a good light bulb. I had a headache for days last week when I worked under a dim light!" Samantha said.
"注意學習時燈泡要好。上星期我在昏暗的燈光下學習之后頭痛了好幾天！"薩曼莎說。
"Sure. Thanks for helping." "The feeling's mutual!"
"肯定的。謝謝你的幫助！""大家彼此彼此！"
