81.冷水浴
When Jay's alarm went off，it was still dark.
杰伊的鬧鐘響的時(shí)候，天還沒有亮。
He had to feel his way around the room to even find the light switch.
就連找電燈開關(guān)他也得在房里摸索著向前走。
As he moved about Jay groaned.
杰伊一邊摸索一邊抱怨。
He could feel in his bones that today wasn't going to be a good day.
他從內(nèi)心預(yù)感到這一天有些不妙。
And he didn't feel up to going to university at all.
他覺得完全不能去上學(xué)了。
But he made it to the shower.
但是他來到了淋浴房。
A good burst of cold water was enough to keep anyone from feeling down in the dumps.
痛痛快快洗一個(gè)冷水浴足以讓人擺脫悶悶不樂的情緒。
And it worked. Jay was soon feeling like a new man.
這一招還真管用。杰伊很快感覺像是換了一個(gè)人。
He stepped into the kitchen and threw a couple of fresh eggs from his brother's farm in the frying pan.
他走進(jìn)廚房，往油炸鍋里打了幾個(gè)從哥哥農(nóng)場(chǎng)里弄來的新鮮雞蛋。
He was glad his brother could ferret out the fertilized eggs from the non-fertilized ones.
他很高興哥哥能從未受精卵的雞蛋中把受精卵的雞蛋挑出來。
Jay couldn't have! Now he was looking forward to eggs and bacon.
杰伊可役這個(gè)本事！現(xiàn)在他在等他的雞蛋和熏咸肉。
As he fiddled with the frying pan, Jay felt free enough to start singing.
他一邊擺弄油炸鍋，一邊自在的開心唱歌。
Ah, it was good to fend for oneself.
啊，自己照料自己的感覺真好。
He had only lived alone now for two weeks. But it was great.
他獨(dú)立生活到現(xiàn)在還只有兩個(gè)星期，但他覺得很不錯(cuò)。
And Jay decided then and there that though he might feel small in the world, he could still live a happy life.
他此時(shí)此地覺得盡管他會(huì)在這個(gè)世界上感到渺小，他仍然可以生活得很幸福。
Especially in his own apartment! Jay felt right at home!
尤其是在自己的公寓里！杰伊覺得無拘無束，舒服極了！
Too bad his mother was alone though.
可糟糕的是媽媽孤獨(dú)一人。
She was feeling her age lately, not feeling well at all.
最近她老是覺得自己老了，覺得身體一點(diǎn)兒也不好。
That also meant that she didn't feel like doing anything.
這就意味著她一點(diǎn)兒也不想做任何亊情。
She would complain about it to him and his brother so much that they could feel their ears burning!
她會(huì)向他和他哥哥使勁抱怨，讓他們感到羞愧。
Ah well, Jay would stop by today after field hockey and cheer her up.
算了吧，杰伊想今天打完曲棍球之后就結(jié)束這種生活，回家讓媽媽高興高興。
Maybe he could pass some of his cheer to her.
也許他能把他的歡樂帶點(diǎn)給她。
Or maybe she should just take a cold shower!
或者也許她應(yīng)該洗個(gè)冷水浴！
