【學生倡議】：

一個女生Jessica在校報上寫倡議信，建議學校的radio station應該多放音樂，少播announcements, 以吸引更多學生聽。 【學生態度】：男生反對此倡議。

理由1：有很多commercial radio stations播放music, 有的電臺甚至whole day都play music。想聽音樂的學生可以去聽那些電臺的節目。學生都有自己喜歡的音樂臺，不會因為學校的radio stations多放音樂，就不去聽他們愛聽的音樂臺的節目了。

理由2：通過收聽學校的announcements, 學生們可以隨時了解學校的最新信息。

【名詞解釋】：人在面對一個problem的時候，有兩種選擇：一是do nothing, 二是采取行動take action。人們一般會do nothing, 因為taking action很可能帶來negative effects。 【教授舉例】：教授舉了自己的例子。自己幾周前開車去趕飛機，一路都挺順的smoothly, 但后來遇到了traffic jam, 堵了半個小時，基本一動不動。這時，他想到了an alternative road, 只不過那條路有點繞遠路。最終，教授還是決定在現在這條路上繼續等待，因為他都已經等了很久了。如果去另一條路，萬一那條路也堵車呢？最后教授missed他的flight。

Question: 用聽力的例子來解釋對這個概念的理解。

Question 5 【學生困難】：男生的biology老師要和教授去紐約做presentation, 男生本人也可以去幫忙，但他發現，有關部門只給他出hotel費，不出transportation的費用，男生很苦惱。

【解決方案】：女生給男生兩個方案：

方案1：提前買機票。但男生說馬上就要出發了(departure day)，臨時買機票會很貴。

方案2：改坐火車去。但是坐火車去紐約要一天時間，而且如果坐火車，男生就會miss掉某學科的review session, 那個review session很重要。
