Farhan Haq, deputy permanent representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, said on Wednessay that the United States currently owes a total of 2.8 billion dollars to the United Nations, including being in arrears of 1.5 billion dollars to the regular budget.
聯合國秘書長副發言人法爾漢·哈克當地時間21日稱，目前美國未繳納的聯合國常規預算攤款為15億美元。
According to the rules, a country is deprived of the right to vote in the General Assembly of the organization if its debt exceeds the amount of necessary contributions to the regular budget of the United Nations for two years.
根據《聯合國憲章》有關規定，如果會員國拖欠的會費額等于或超過前兩年所應繳納的會費，就會失去在聯大的投票權。
