A moment of doubt came to Ford as he watched the grey landscape move beneath them. The immensity of time worried him, he could feel it as a presence. He cleared his throat.	看著這些灰暗的景象在身下移動，一陣疑惑出現(xiàn)在福特的腦海中。巨大的時間跨度困擾著他，他此時此刻能夠明確地感覺到。于是他清了清嗓子。
"Well, even supposing it is ..."	“好吧，即使假定這就是……”
"It is," said Zaphod.	“這就是。”贊福德說。
"Which it isn't," continued Ford. "What do you want with it anyway? There's nothing there."	“其實不是的?！备Ｌ乩^續(xù)道，“但是，你又想從這兒得到什么呢？這兒什么都沒有啊?！?/td>
"Not on the surface," said Zaphod.	“不是在表面上。”贊福德說。
"Alright, just supposing there's something. I take it you're not here for the sheer industrial archaeology of it all. What are you after?"	“好吧，就算假設(shè)這兒有些什么，我敢斷定你來這兒決不只是為了工業(yè)考古學(xué)。你究竟在尋找什么？”
One of Zaphod's heads looked away. The other one looked round to see what the first was looking at, but it wasn't looking at anything very much.	贊福德的一個腦袋朝一邊望去，另一個跟著去看第一個在看些什么，但是什么都沒看見。
"Well," said Zaphod airily, "it's partly the curiosity, partly a sense of adventure, but mostly I think it's the fame and the money ..."	“哦，”贊福德輕快地說，“一部分是出于好奇，一部分是出于冒險。但主要的，我想還是名聲和金錢……”
Ford glanced at him sharply. He got a very strong impression that Zaphod hadn't the faintest idea why he was there at all.	福特用一種銳利的眼神盯著他。他有一種非常強烈的感覺，贊福德來這兒其實完全沒有任何意圖。
"You know I don't like the look of that planet at all," said Trillian shivering.	“你知道，我一點兒也不喜歡這顆行星的樣子?！贝蘩蚨黝澏吨f。
