【語法用法】
around和round相似，均作副詞和介詞用。美國人習慣用around，如下列各例句：
He turned around.Like the moon, the artificial satellites move around the earth.
I went around to the post-office.
Around 800 men came.
英國人習慣用round，如上面的前三個例句，他們習慣把around改成round，而最后一句，則改成about。
around有一些固定的搭配，如around and about，around and above，all around等。而有時不可用around，如winter comes around，all the year around，win one around等；
round與around的比較：
round常指在圈內或者曲線上的移動或定位。
She walked round the car and looked at the wheels.
英國人還常用round作“去到一個地方的每個部分”或“分東西給組里的每個人”。
We walked round the old part of the town.
Could you pass the cups round, please?
而around則指不明確的，模糊的移動或定位。
The children were running around/about everywhere.
【錯句舉例與錯句分析】
錯句: I prefer being around people.
訂正: I prefer having people around me.
翻譯: 我更偏向有人圍繞在我的身邊。
分析: 這里顛倒了不可倒置的習語。
【詞義辨析】
1.about, around, round
這些詞均有“在周圍、在附近”之意。
about既可表靜態，也可表動態。
around主要用于美國，靜態或動態均可。
round主要用于英國，多半指動態。
2.almost, nearly, about, approximately, around, roughly
這些副詞均有“大約，差不多”之意。
almost指在程度上相差很小，差不多。
nearly與almost含義基本相同，側重指數量、時間或空間上的接近。
about常可分almost和nearly換用，但about用于表示時間、數量的“大約”時，實際數量可能多也可能少。
approximately多用于書面語，指精確度接近某個標準以致誤差可忽略不計。

【詞義辨析】
1.consider, think, believe, count, deem, reckon, regard
這些動詞均含有“認為”之意。
consider指經過考慮和觀察后得出的結論。
think普通用詞，指按照自己的意見提出看法。
believe通常指根據一定的證據，經思考后而認為屬實。
count指作出判斷后而得出的看法等。
deem正式用詞，常用于法律、文學，強調作判斷而不是思考。
reckon指對人或事作全面“權衡”，把各方面意見考慮進去后得出結論。
regard側重憑外表或表面現象作判斷。多強調觀點。
2.study, consider, ponder, weigh, contemplate
這些動詞均有“考慮、思考、估量”之意。
study普通用詞，指對各方面考慮，在制訂出計劃或采取具體動作之前作認真檢查。
consider既指一時的對某事的考慮，也指長時間的深入的思考。
ponder側重仔細、深入、連續地考慮問題，以作出認真的估計和正確的抉擇。
weigh指作出決策前把問題的各個方面進行比較，權衡利害得失，取有利的方面。
contemplate通常指長時間思考某事，有時含無確定的實際目的。

In judging him you should consider his youth.

He will be considered a weak leader.
