Lesson 20 The Basics of Being a Working Mother
職場母親基本守則
Rule number one-The family comes first before the house-work!
守則第一條：家人重于家務！
Don’t feel guilty. You have to think of yourself.
不要有負罪感。你也要為自己考慮。
Enjoy going to work. Keep the housework simple; do not put too much pressure on yourself.
享受工作。盡量簡化家務勞動，別給自己太大的壓力。
Use your wages to make your life easier.
利用掙來的錢使生活更簡便。
The easier it is. the more energy you will have to ensure success in your career.
生活越方便，你就會有更多的精力保證事業的成功。
Equip the home with labor-saving devices such as dishwashers. vacuum cleaners, etc.
在家中使用洗碗機、吸塵器等節省勞力的電器。
Keep everyone in the picture.
讓家中每個人都了解你的情況
Let your children know why you have got to work and what the advantages will be for them.
告訴孩子們你為什么要去工作，你的工作會給他們帶來什么好處。
Let them know when they will see you next and tell them of the plans you have.
告知他們你回家的時間和你的計劃。
If you come back tired and cross and you are the last one home,
如果你回家時疲憊不堪、情緒焦躁，而且家人都已經回來的話，
get someone to make you a nice sup of tea or a refreshing drink of your choice.
讓人給你倒杯茶或者你喜歡的清爽飲料。
It will help you feel relaxed.
倒茶的人會覺得自己能幫助你，家中的氣氛會更和諧。
The make will feel useful and therefore it will help create a pleasant atmosphere.
還可以嘗試其他放松的方法，如洗澡等等，讓你的情緒輕松愉快。
Other ways to relax are to have a bath or do anything just to put yourself in a good mood.
發明一些幫你作家務的游戲。
Invent some useful games.
晚餐時不妨使用塑料餐具。
Tell your children to use plastic plates and cups during their evening meal.
教孩子們做洗碗的游戲。
Teach them the washing-up game. Fill the sink.
每人發一條塑料圍裙，讓他們自己做。
Give them a plastic apron each and let them get on with it.
你會看到他們很喜歡這游戲。
You will find that they wil enjoy it. Don't forget to reward them.
別忘了獎勵他們。

I think the most important thing is that you should be nice to yourself,

like keeping housework simple, spending money on things that make life easier, buying yourself things you like, and so on.

You can only be nice to oth-ers when you can be nice to yourself.
只有做到對自己好，才能做到對別人好。

Yes. He is very understanding and supportive.
