【詞義辨析】
command, order, direction, instruction
這些名詞均含“命令”之意。
command較正式用詞，強調權威性、全局性和強制性。
order普通用詞，側重指具體的命令。
direction正式用詞，指口頭或書面的指示或命令。內容不一定詳盡，語氣較緩和，不太強調強制性。也可指指導性的說明。
instruction書面用詞，指不容違反、不容推翻的命令。也多指包含具體說明的指示。
order, bid, command
這些動詞均含有“命令”之意。
order普通用詞，多指上級對下級，主人對仆人以及教師對學生等發出的命令，也指態度專橫地命令他人。
bid與order同義，但較正式，文學意味強，多指口頭直接下的命令。
command話意強，指正式下令，強調下令者的權威性，要求必須服從。
【例句用法】
The army is under the king's direct command.
軍隊由國王直接統率。
The general commanded his men to attack the city.
將軍下令部下攻城。
This great man is able to command everyone's respect.
這位偉人有資格獲得大家的尊敬。
二.ahead：adv.領先, 預先, 在前, 向前, 提前
【語法用法】
ahead在指“在前”時，是表達了將來的一個時間，未發生的，指“以后”。
I have a very busy day ahead of me.
我接下去的這一天會很忙。
ahead在指“預先”時，表達的是之前的一個時間，指“以前”。
We must decide a week ahead.
我們必須要在一周前預先決定好。
【例句用法】
By doing extra homework, he soon got ahead of his class-mates.
他靠多做家庭作業，很快在班上名列前茅。
The man on the watch cried out: "Dangers ahead!"
守望的人突然大喊:"前面有危險!"
Joan ran ahead to film us as we crossed the bridge.
我們過橋時，瓊跑到前面為我們拍照。
China is striding ahead in her economic construction.
中國正在經濟建設方面大步前進。
He will be ahead of others in English.
他在英語方面將超過別人。
