Jasper White is one of those rare people who believes in ancient myths. He has just boughta new house in the city, but ever since he moved in, he has had trouble with cars and their owners. When he returns home at night, he always finds that someone has parked a caroutside his gate. Because of this, he has not been able to get his own car into his garage even once. Jasper has put up 'No Parking' signs outside his gate, but these have not had any effect. Now he has put an ugly stone head over the gate. It is one of the ugliestfaces I have ever seen. I asked him what it was and he told me that it was Medusa, the Gorgon. Jasper hopes that she will turn cars and their owners to stone. But none of them has been turned to stone yet!

關系副詞：在從句中只能做狀語。
關系代詞與定語從句

第一步：會合成

1）who, whom, that
第一句：He is the boss.
第二句：The boss wants to see you. 　
他就是 （想要見你的）那個老板。　
定語從句：He is the boss (who wants to see you).

2) Whose 用來指人或物，(只用作定語, 若指物，它還可以同of which互換), 例如：　
第一句：They rushed over to help the man.
第二句：His car had broken down.
定語從句：They rushed over to help the man whose car had broken down.

3）which, that　　　
第一句：A prosperity appears in the countryside.
第二句：The prosperity had never been seen before.
定語從句：A prosperity which / that had never been seen before appears in the countryside. 農村出現了前所未 有的繁榮。　
被修飾的名詞——先行詞（被修飾的名詞或代詞）
連接詞（替換詞）——關系詞

第二步：分析關系詞做什么成分。（主語or賓語）

第三步：劃分主從句（如何找到定語從句）

1）從關系詞that/which/who/whom/whose 前面畫一個括號。
2）跨過定語從句中的謂語動詞，第二個謂語動詞之前斷開括回。

關系副詞引導的定語從句

1）when, where, why
關系副詞when, where, why的含義相當于"介詞+ which"結構，因此常常和"介詞+ which"結構交替使用，例如：　
第一句：Beijing is a place 北京是一個地方。
第二句：I was born in Beijing.
定語從句：Beijing is the place where (in which) I was born. 北京是我的出生地。
判斷關系代詞與關系副詞
方法： 用關系代詞，還是關系副詞完全取決于從句中的謂語動詞。及物動詞后面無賓語，就必須要 求用關系代詞。例如：
（錯） This is the mountain village where I visited last year.
（錯） This is the mountain village （where I visited last year.）
（錯） I will never forget the days （when I spent in the countryside.）
（對） This is the mountain village (which/that) I visited last year.
（對） I'll never forget the days (which/that) I spent in the countryside.

1)復習完成時：has bought
備注：He has just had this new house for 5 years.
2)ever since + 過去時間＋ 完成時
例句：Ever since I broke up with my girlfriend, I’ve been living a happy life. 自從我和我女朋友分手之后，我過的很開心。

3.When he returns home at night, he always finds that someone has parked a car

outside his gate. Because of this, he has not been able to get his own car into his garage even once.

1)When he returns home at night
第一：when 引導的時間狀語從句；
第二：return home 回家；get home 到家；return one’s call 回復某人的電話
例句：When you get home, give me a message. 你到家之后，給我發個消息。
第三：at night/in the evening
2)he always finds that someone has parked a car outside his gate
知識點：find (that someone has parked a car outside his gate) 括號賓語從句
備注：及物動詞 ＋ 句子
3）Because of this, he has not been able to get his own car into his garage even once.
知識點：because of + 名詞或短語，不能加句子。

4.Jasper has put up 'No Parking' signs outside his gate, but these have not had any effect. Now he has put an ugly stone head over the gate.

第一：put up a tent
復習：put off 推遲／put away 放起來，收好／put on 穿上／stay put 呆著別動／put 表述。表達
第二：but 轉折。
