Late in the afternoon, the boys put up their tent in the middle of a field. As soon as this was done, they cooked a meal over an open fire. They were all hungry and the food smelled good. After a wonderful meal, they told stories and sang songs by the campfire. But

some time later it began to rain. The boys felt tired so they put out the fire and creptinto their tent. Their sleeping bags were warm and comfortable, so they all slept soundly. In the middle of the night, two boys woke up and began shouting. The tent was full of water! They all leapt out of their sleeping bags and hurried outside. It was raining heavily and they found that a stream had formed in the field. The stream wound its way across thefield and then flowed right under their tent!

1) as soon as +引導(dǎo)時(shí)間狀語(yǔ)從句
改：I not only spoke English very carefully, but also very clearly.

3.After a wonderful meal, they told stories and sang songs by the campfire.
1）after 連詞，后面可以＋句子，也可以名詞。
2）by the campfire 在篝火旁邊。

4.But some time later it began to rain. The boys felt tired so they put out the fire andcrept into their tent. Their sleeping bags were warm and comfortable, so they all slept soundly.

time不可數(shù)——表示時(shí)間；

4)put out the fire 撲滅
擴(kuò)展1: on fire 很火，大趨勢(shì)，無(wú)法阻擋；
例句：Peter is on fire. His videos went viral on the internet. 皮特現(xiàn)在很火啊。他的視頻在網(wǎng)上都傳瘋了。

例句：I was fired for nothing. I don’t know what I’ve done to get me into this. 我今天啥事都沒干就被開除了。我也不知道怎么回事就這樣了。
