二、文章講解：

Aeroplanes are slowly driving me mad. I live near an airport and passing planes can be heard night and day. The airport was built years ago, but for some reason it could not be used then. Last year, however, it came into use. Over a hundred people must have been driven away from their homes by the noise. I am one of the few people left. Sometimes I thinkthis house will be knocked down by a passing plane. I have been offered a large sum of money to go away, but I am determined to stay here. Everybody says I must be mad and theyare probably right.

結構：be過去時（was/were） + done
例句：The criminal was released last year. 那個罪犯去年被放出去了。

Used to do sth 過去常常做某事（現在不做了）
例：I used to smoke a lot. / We used to fight a lot/ I used to drink a lot. /I used to be a driver.

1)However 轉折連詞，位置靈活（句首，句中，和句尾）
2)Come into use 逐漸開始使用
搭配：It’s no use doing sth 做某事沒有用
例句：It’s no use crying here. You gotta do what you gotta do. 哭沒有用的，該怎么辦就怎么辦！
3)Hundred 用法
前面句子數字 ＋ hundred ——－five hundred people
hundreds of --- hundreds of people 數以百計的人
4）must have done 對過去肯定的推測
You must have cried last night.

5.I am one of the few people left. Sometimes I think this house will be knocked down by a passing plane.
1）one of + 可數名詞復數; ….之一
例：Shenzhen is one of favorite cities in China. 深圳是中國最大的城市之一。
2）過去分詞做后置定語
結構：名詞 ＋ done
例句: The books bought yesterday are of high quality.
例句：What’s the language spoken in that country?
例句：They are problems left over by history?
3）will be knocked down by a passing plane
語法：一般將來時的被動語態，復習時態和語態的結合。

6.I have been offered a large sum of money to go away, but I am determined to stay here. Everybody says I must be mad and they are probably right.
1） have been offered 完成時的被動語態
