Tom: Hi, Lily, we need to talk. Please follow me.

Lily: Yes, of course. What would you like to discuss?

Tom: Today you were late again. We warned you last time that you would be dismissed if it happened again. Other companies would have let you go a long time ago, but I wanted to give you a chance to change your habits because you are a very dedicated worker when you are here.

Lily: I understand. I appreciate you giving me the chances and I apologize for letting you down. I won't make any excuses for my lateness. I know it is something I need to change and I will keep trying to do better in future, wherever I work next.

Tom: That sounds like a good plan. Sorry this didn't turn out differently.
