注：age 既是可數(shù)名詞，也是不可數(shù)名詞。當(dāng)作“年齡，年紀(jì)”解時(shí)，可數(shù)不可數(shù)都可以。

當(dāng)表示“（做某事的）年齡限制”時(shí)，為不可數(shù)，如在under age（未到規(guī)定年齡），over age（超齡），come of age（達(dá)到法定年齡）等說法中。

在口語中表示“很久”之意時(shí)，通常用復(fù)數(shù)形式：I haven\'t seen you for ages.（好久沒見到你了。）

因此，在in their old age 中，age 表示的是“人生的某一階段”的意思，應(yīng)該是不可數(shù)名詞，沒有復(fù)數(shù)形式。
